Who who, who who? Earworm Attack! 🙂 But really, who are you?  Do you know?  It’s an important question.  And it’s an important answer, if you want to get the most out of your life and rock it out in a badass way. Most of us are two kinds of people.  We have our social self, and our essential self.  The social self is the person who is showing themselves to the world in the way the world expects us to be.  It’s society’s perception of what is ‘acceptable’ and expected of you.  It’s the face we put on.  Sometimes it’s just what we need to be…for example, you may have really cool tattoos but out of respect for your deceased grandmother you cover them up at her funeral.  You really feel comfy when you are lounging around in sweats, but when you head off to your corporate job you don the corporate attire.  You knew at a young age that you could swear around your friends, but there are other people and situations you are around or in where saying shit is just not appropriate.  Our social self is an important part of who we are and we need to be that person at times. Real Life Lessons in the Movies!!

I love me a good movie.  And by ‘good’, I mean good to me.  There have been plenty of movies out there that were deemed ‘good’ that I couldn’t stand at all…one that comes to mind is “Sideways”, a film that was made way back in 2004.  It got great reviews and most people loved it–personally I found the characters so whiney that I couldn’t get past that.  (and I mean whiney, not winey.  I know the movie is all about wine.)  Same with “Juno”.  About 15 minutes of dialogue that was just a bit too staged and quirky-sounding became very grating to me, so off it went. I am not ashamed to say I love the movie “Krull”, a silly sci-fi/fantasy flick that came out in 1983.  I’ll admit I love just about anything with princesses and castles (OK, not true..I did not like “Snow White and the Huntsman”…but I digress)  but I love the sweet story and the characters in this movie.  For whatever reason it has always had a soft spot for me. What gets my ‘good movie’ stamp of approval is a message in it that speaks to me. I think about it later.  It made me laugh, cry, get angry.  It was clever or...
